I’m not a fucking exhibitionist

I get one of two reactions from textiles when I tell them I’m a nudist.

1) But I don’t want to see a bunch of naked people

2) I don’t want people to see me naked.

being a nudist is not about either of these things.  It is about being, not being seen or seeing.

I wish there were such a thing as a safe place wehre I can be social and not worry about men objectifying and pornifying everthing I do.  there isn’t.  But they do it as much when I have my clothes on I think.  I suppose one does feel extra vulnerable when one had no clothes on.  but I don’t like wearing clothes when I don’t have to.

That does not mean I give you the right to think about me naked in a pornified way.  just like I don’t want you thinking about me in a pornified way clothed either.  I know it happens and there is nothing I can do about it.  but I just wanted to say I don’t like it.  I would like it to stop.

as for not wanting to see people naked… if you weren’t sexualising everything about nudity it wouldn’t be a big deal.  it’s a fucking body part.  anyway… whatever.

on a lighter note.. I got my book back in case you were wondering.

  1. What’s a textile? I know the standard definition but not yours. And many times its the women who sexually objectify being nude in public. Not trying to bash you sugah, just talking from experience.

  2. I think lots of people associate sex=naked.. but to actually be looked at as a sex object? I think that happens more to women than men in general, and it happens more when creepy people come to the beach. I’ve never seen a woman in clothes picking her way through a group of men staring at them…

and Textile= someone who is not a nudist. Because they wear textiles…
